Anxiety and Depression occur mostly in woman due to the production of estrogen. Many people feel hopeless, sad, scared, tired, angry and etc. It is hard for them to do every day tasks. If one does not get treatment, it may worsen. Some people defeat anxiety within a month and others have it for years.
What is Anxiety and Depression?:
A state of uneasiness and apprehension; loss of control in mood and mind. Constantly worrying and thinking about the future.
How am I sure I have Anxiety and Depression?:
Keep track of how long you have been feeling, "not yourself". There are a few disorders of Anxiety you should read about! GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder): It affects the way a person thinks. OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder): Unwanted thought and or repetitive behaviors. Panic Disorder: Unexpected and repeated episodes of intense fear. PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder): Develops after a terrifying event causing nightmares and or daily visions of the event. Social Anxiety Disorder: excessive self-consciousness in areas where there are a lot of people.
So now.. What are the symptoms of Anxiety and Depression?:
One may feel: tightness in chest, lightheaded, dizziness, shaky, difficulty breathing, fast heart beating, sick and etc. One can have more than one symptom at a time. These symptoms usually last up to 5 minutes to an hour.
Can it be dangerous to others and myself?
Believe it or not, it can be dangerous to others and oneself. People feeling loss of control and self esteem beat up on others and or their self. Someone dealing with Anxiety find it hard to get help because no one understands what they feel. Because Anxiety overpowers one, that person cannot control their mood or mind. So much weakness and unhappiness causes negative thinking and low self-esteem. Suicide happens to some people because they can't bare to live like that. Think of people who have anxiety and drive. If that person were to have a panic attack, it can be very dangerous to drivers or pedestrians. There are many reasons it can be dangerous to others and oneself.
Luckily, Anxiety and Depression is curable!
There are a few ways to treat Anxiety and Depression: Counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, medication, going to the doctor more frequently, etc.
Well, telling you that twice I had Anxiety and Depression in my life. Now, I can give you some coping skills that helped me get through the day: Doodling, drawing, painting, playing the piano, doing projects that I loved, talking to a friend who listened, going to therapy and counseling, keeping my phone and water with me at all times, etc.
Some of the things might sound ridiculous, but it helped a lot. It got my mind off of things and I felt secured having my water and phone wherever I went. I always thought negative. I always felt something bad was going to happen. Do whatever that helps keep the negative thoughts away!
